Cash or credit cards, cell phones or online accounts: PIN codes are the modern key to money and data transfer. For security reasons, PINs are typically dispatched to the consumer by mail, under separate cover from the card or any kind of access details. Schreiner ProSecure, Otto Kuenecke Mail Processing Systems and the mutual savings bank DSV Group (Deutscher Sparkassenverlag) joined forces to develop an integrated system solution based on Schreiner ProSecure’s PIN Safe solution.

Tamper-proof PIN protection against unauthorized access is crucial for the issuer of the PIN code: once the PIN has been spied out and used for fraud, the PIN code’s issuer has to prove that the customer or third parties tampered with it after it was dispatched. For image reasons, in most cases the issuer will remedy any damage caused to the customer--regardless of whether or not the claim is justified. Secure PIN sealing offers the only possibility to protect the PIN issuer against liability claims.

Therefore, Schreiner ProSecure developed PIN Safe. PIN Safe seals the PIN code in between two security labels. This solution is so tamper-proof that to date there is no optical, chemical, or physical method known that would enable undetected access to the PIN--as proven in tests conducted by independent testing institutes such as FOGRA and PIRA.

Schreiner ProSecure's PIN Safe protects against unauthorized access. The newly developed security solution consists of a completely opaque combination of top and base label. Further security features such as a void effect integrated into the top label or a multidimensional hologram on the cover layer make any attempt at counterfeiting or tampering immediately visible to anyone, including laypersons. PIN Safe meets the most exacting security requirements and, in addition, offers attractive design options. For instance, the hologram can be customized. The customer's name and logo can also be incorporated in the void effect, thus promoting the brand while delivering clear tamper evidence in a striking, single solution.

Easy handling by the user is guaranteed: the PIN is exposed by simply scratching off the cover. PIN Safe offers process and cost advantages for mailers compared to standard products--a custom-tailored and permanently efficient solution.
